Madonna's neighbor sues over noise, disturbance

NEW YORK: A woman living below Madonna's swank Manhattan apartment has complained to the New York State Supreme Court about the noise that the pop star upstairs pumps out, US media said Monday.

"Madonna and one or more of her invited guests repeatedly dance and train... to unreasonably high-decibel, amplified music, causing noise and vibration to pour through the walls, ceilings and radiators," claims the lawsuit, filed by Karen George.

"Ms. George has been forced to endure blaring music, stomping and shaking walls for approximately one and a half to three hours each day," the suit against the building board said.

The building board said it has threatened Madonna with eviction if the noise does not stop.

Madonna, 51, moved to her seventh-floor apartment in Manhattan's upscale Central Park West avenue after her divorce last year from British filmmaker Guy Ritchie.

Stop VJ-ing, Shahid told Shenaz

Shenaz Treasurywala talks about making a final comeback to Bollywood, getting almost kidnapped as a child, her ‘forever friend’ Himesh Reshammiya and lots more!

Shenaz Treasurywala

Let’s start with your childhood... what was it like?
Being the daughter of a Merchant Navy captain, I have spent the early years of my life traveling the globe on board cargo ships that carried potatoes, onions and rice. I was even conceived on the ship. I learned to swim before I could walk and my day consisted of swimming on the ship and fishing from the deck. I had no friends of my age because I was the only child on board and when I saw a kid my age, I used to get very excited. I shall never ever forget almost getting kidnapped while climbing the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Kidnapped... that must be an interesting story!
My mother befriended a French woman who couldn’t have kids; then while climbing down the tower, she held me, looked at mum coldly, and said, ‘I have to take her. You can have more children, I can’t.’ In typical filmi style my mother ran after her, snatched me away from the crazy lady and made a run for it. My mum was a teacher who taught me the basic kindergarten stuff on the ship. But soon, I had to go ashore and be enrolled into school. And so, my mother and I made our home on dry land, while my dad continued to sail. Such a colorful upbringing has its advantages as well as drawbacks. I had traveled around the world and had seen so much more than any other child my age. However, I didn’t know how to interact with children and was a bit too mature. I once met a little boy in Indonesia when I was four, and I chased him around his home trying to kiss him. He ran for his life! And I wept all night wondering why he didn’t like me. That was also my first experience with the opposite sex—permanently damaging!
Did you know early on that you wanted to be an actress?
When I was finally put into school, I was very quiet, shy and dreamy, not knowing how to interact with children my age. That dreaminess soon found a channel, courtesy Arthur Miller. My parents took me to a play, “A View From the Bridge”. I remember being mesmerized by the actors on stage and I told my parents that I wanted to be an actress.
‘MTV Most Wanted’ gave you fame, name, money.. did you always dream of becoming a VJ?
Showbiz came calling. As soon as I entered FYJC in Xaviers’, I was approached by a production coordinator who asked me to test for an ad. Though I had been approached earlier also but thought it was a joke and hadn’t really gone to any of the screen tests. I was a rounded kid; I didn’t see myself as a skinny model. My friends urged me to go. There were 200 other girls at the audition. I really didn’t want to wait around all day, but my friend who was with me refused to let me leave. Luckily, it was a performance-based comedy ad and I managed to make them laugh and got the ad. Before I knew it, my phone wouldn’t stop ringing. I was called in for every ad. MTV approached me at this time to screen test and before I could even look up to understand what was happening I was hosting ‘MTV Most Wanted’. I never stopped studying though. I graduated in English Lit and even when MTV moved my base to Singapore I continued to study there, and did my post-graduation in journalism. All those years of dreaming on the ship and not having company or anyone to talk with, well I more than made up for the not talking, after I joined MTV, all those words just burst out of my mouth.
After MTV, you suddenly disappeared. What kept you busy during that period?
After MTV, ‘Ishq Vishk’ happened immediately. I was too young! I wasn't focused and had no idea what I wanted from life. Things came too easy to me and I took that for granted. After ‘Ishq Vishq’, I didnt get the kind of films I would like to watch, so I just took off. I had just finished my studies decided to take some time off and figure out if this is what I really wanted. I tried photography, writing, production, hosted travel shows in the US. I lived out of a suitcase like a hippy, went to acting and writing school in the US, did some plays, did tiny parts in LA; until I started missing Mumbai and the buzz. I watched every film while I was away and it kind of made me sad. I wanted to be part of it. I wanted ‘in’ again. So, I decided to come back, this time with focus and that’s what I am doing here now. I have three movies ready for release. I guess this is my comeback and, truthfully, I am very nervous about it. This is all I care about now. I've been everywhere, tried everything, traveled the world, studied in the best schools, and I’m ready to work hard and be focused. I don't care about anything else anymore. Now I know that this is what I really want and it is my choice.
You made debut with Ken Ghosh, Shahid Kapoor, what happened after that?
Like I said, I wasn’t focused and did not know what I wanted. During ‘Ishq Vishk’, I continued hosting shows for MTV, traveling, practicing my photography, basically all my ‘awaragiri’ . I have itchy feet and can’t stay in one place too long. I even remember something Shahid said very clearly, "Tu kab tak traveling aur VJing karegi, films pe concentrate kar. Take it seriously". At that time I took offense and was really upset with him but now I look back and realize, that he had focus and vision and knew what he wanted, I did not. When I got nominated for the ‘Filmfare Awards’, I was backpacking somewhere, it took my parents a while to get in touch with me and ask me to come back. I am a simple girl, I don’t need diamonds or jewels or fancy cars, all I need is enough money to be able to travel and eat well. I am quite a hippy really. But then, I realized it was acting and being in front of the camera which I loved and which I just gave up out of rebellion. This is another side to me and I really enjoy acting and I am good at it. Why give it up?!
What made you accept ‘Radio’?
The script was so tight, fast-paced, the music was exceptional.  I loved my role in the film and fell in love with my character ‘Shanaya’.

Ash’s not online!

For those fans who are excited to have Aishwarya Rai Bachchan among their friends list on the many social networking sites that are popular
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
these days, better beware.

The actress isn’t on any of the sites and it’s mostly some impostor taking on her personality. Of course, there are fans worldwide who want to connect with the gorgeous actress. But looks like they will have to wait till Ash finds time to log in. Says Ash, “I was taken aback and at the same time amused that I exist on the social networking sites... when I don’t. That too when the impostor was posting messages like I would be, obviously taking cues from the various interviews I give. That person is aware of my schedules which is also available to the media. When I do get online, I will let everyone know, I owe it to my fans. So the next time you write to me expecting to get a response, you can be sure it’s not me. The social networking sites are a great way to communicate but then it should be done with some kind of authentication.”

again.

Their latest offering, Ayan Mukherjee’s Wake Up Sid, has struck gold at the box-office. “I’m genuinely thrilled,’’ Karan said, explaining that this ‘slice of life’ film is a departure from the usual fare that his banner has so far been known for. “It wasn’t opulent, it was shot in Mumbai, it was a tiny film about nothing and yet it says so much,’’ added Karan.

“It is usually believed that in Bollywood only melodrama, confrontation and over-the-top emotions work. And look, our audiences have proved us wrong. They have patronised Sid in a way that is unbelievable,’’ said Karan who’s humbled by the number of text messages, emails and live reactions he got from people “almost all of whom have connected with the film in some way or the other. Youngsters who are in the Sid-phase have loved the film; those who are in their 30s — and have been there and done that, have also liked it; and even parents with a Sid at home are relating to it.’’

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels the savvy release pattern for Wake up Sid did the trick. He said, “Karan and UTV sensibly released just around 350-400 prints in the multiplexes across metros and they are now reaping a huge dividend.’’ According to Taran, “Sid is a rock star... the film has found a cult following in metros. What’s more, Ranbir Kapoor is definitely the next big thing. He is like a breath of fresh air. He is not trying to ape Aamir Khan or Shah Rukh Khan. And, though his father Rishi Kapoor is one of the best actors in Bollywood, Ranbir isn’t trying to be a Rishi clone. As an actor Ranbir has his own distinct style.”

The star of the moment is gratified with all the praise. Reacting to talk of him being the next superstar, Ranbir said, “Well, I’m happy and humbled. And much as I would like to, I can’t say the film worked only because of me. Look at it this way, I had an author-backed role and it was Sid the character that carried me through rather than the other way around.’’

The young actor is also very happy for his best friend Ayan Mukerji without whose conviction he feels Sid wouldn’t have been the adorable guy he is. “Ayan is extremely talented and I’m genuinely indebted to Karan and Ayan for giving me this film. If you make cinema from the heart it usually works. That’s what all of us involved with Sid did.”

Salman says Katrina is a poor actress and should be thrown from film industry
Recently, after he, his girlfriend Katrina and a whole lot of Salman's colleagues - Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan, Govinda, Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar had walked the ramp at the Couture week in support of superstar's charity, 'Being Human', the journos pinned down Salman wanting to know who according to him was the best on the ramp.

Salman mentioned his senior Sanjay Dutt first, who he is really fond of. Then he rattled off all the other names giving one good quality in each of them. Since Katrina was missing from Salman's list, a television journo pointed out, "And what about Katrina?" "Katrina has always been good on the ramp, the problem with her was her acting and not walking the ramp," quipped the ever candid Salman without batting an eye-lid.

All this after he had reportedly hand-painted a dress for Katrina to walk on the ramp. Guess, Katz is used to her boyfriend's wayward behaviour and doesn't take him too seriously like the rest in Bollywood..Ha, ha.

Mumbai, Oct 14 (IANS) Bollywood actor Salman Khan says there is no war or rivalry between him and his colleague Shah Rukh Khan. He said stories of friction between them are created by the media and that he is tired of such 'news'.

'There is no war between us. It is the media who creates all this misunderstanding,' Salman said Tuesday after his 'Being Human' show at the ongoing HDIL India Couture Week.

'You will ask me some question about him here and then you will ask him the same question regarding me somewhere else - then you clip them together and run it continuously on TV screens for days creating unnecessary hype and misunderstanding,' he added.

The actor clarified that he is tired of such rumours and doesn't enjoy them at all.

'I would request you to show respect to him and me as well. I am tired of all this. Aren't you people bored too?' asked Salman.

Ajab prem ki ghazab kahani- tera hone laga hun-PROMO

Audience and Production Values of Hindi Cinema

Bollywood over the years has been in influence of Big Production Houses, but recent years graph show a vital change in acceptance by the audience. Today 'Audience' the Aam Junta is starving for change, despite 'Masala Flicks' still holds major portion of audience and Star Power still can make an average-entertainer a HIT, viewers need a break. Multiplex Audience in past few years has influenced and supported houses and independent directors to try something new and they succeeded quite well in contrast to their 'Niche' hold.  Few  Production Houses I would like to mention here, few evolved over the years, some started their journey as a 'Change' and some can be named as 'Innovation'.

1-Dharma Productions:

The term 'Evolution' relates to 'Dharma Productions' from Romance to Family Drama, From Love to Controversial Issues, From Youth to Global Issues, this production house today is managing all 'Big' rather 'Larger' issues and still holds a unique Postion in 'Audience Circle' now. One of the banner that always been took for granted is ready to show audience the evolution in itself. Movies to look forward from the banner 'Wake Up Sid'[Oct 2,09], Kurbaan[Nov 27,09], My Name is Khan[Feb,2010'Probable'].

2-UTV Motion Pictures:

UTV is combination of 'Change' & 'Innovation'. It tries everything and almost everyone, from mass to class, this production house is guarantee to deliver quality and quantity according to debators of this realm, According to me it mainly comes best with 'Larger' issues like 'A Wednesday' 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' some extravaganza like 'Jodha Akbar', a classic like 'Kaminey' and an experiment like 'What's Your Rashee'. UTV believes in no fear policy and treat audience like they should be.[Most Of The Time]. Movies to look forward from this banner 'Wake Up Sid & Kurbaan Made by Dharma Productions' ,'Film City' , 'Arjun' and lots more.

3-Excel Entertainment:

They brought 'Innovation' with them, two of best directors of decades coincidently siblings, 'Farhan Akhtar & Zoya Akhtar'. They redefined 'Friendship', they innovated 'DON' with new life and style, they brought the back-stage of Inudstry with 'Luck by Chance' and touched 'Friendship' chords again with 'Rock On!'. One thing remain common with this production house mainly direction style and screenplay setting is there is always a 'Subtle' thing playing in between which in itself is quite 'Innovation' and that too acceptable and applauded. Movies to look forward from the banner 'Kartik Calling Kartik', 'Dhruv', 'Crooked' and most awaited 'DON 2'.

Lots of other big and small production houses like Yash Raj not accepting 'Change' or misunderstand 'Change' on many occasions. Rajshri Production still aims 'Families' and good at it. Filmkraft eying next level of 'Internationalism' and Illuminati Films looking content and confident while 'Studio 18' not particularly a production house but backs them still looking for 'Big Money' on audience cost.

To The People Who Have A Mindset Of Calling Atif Aslam "Besura"

"Do you know how Art and Science is different? What makes these two entities different? Ever thought of that? Science is guided by rules and regulations. The laws of nature, the theories floating everywhere and the concepts that form the basis of assumptions and observations. The science of a plant in Pakistan is the same as the Science in USA, guided by the same set of rules, the same assumptions and the same concepts. If that is science, what is Art? Think hard ... Any answers? Doesn't art mean creativity, innovation and freedom of expression? Doesn't art encourage you to paint your heart out, write your soul and pen your tears? The basic difference between Art and science is that Science is guided by rules, art is an entity that is open to creativity and is individualistic rather then general ...

Ok, now that we have established the difference between Art and science, another question that I want to ask, what is the purpose of music? or to put it in a better way, what should be the intention and aim of a musician? Different possibilities might be considered ... fame? money? success? ... Is that it? The majority of people would agree that the aim of Music is always to relate to people, to touch people's lives, to touch people's souls, to be able to talk to people through your music. Does all this ring a bell in your heart? If you are saying yes, then you might ask what about fame? money and success? what about recognition? isn't all this important? It is important because to be able to make music as a profession, you need to consider all this and you need to make money to live off music ... BUT ... If you are making music solely to earn money and be successful or get on the radio for your 15 minutes of fame, you might be doing the right things but for the wrong reasons!

I know this might be sounding like a high school lecture by now, but hang on, I do have a point in all this. We have established 2 things so far ... 1) Art is freedom of expression and is open to innovation ... 2) The aim of music is to connect with people ...

Now, with all that has been written so far, let us analyze history ... Does anyone have the exact formula of a perfect painting? Does anyone have a perfect formula to connect to people? Do all trained singers connect to people? Are all amateur singers rejected? ... When you think of making a painting, you follow some conventions - NOT RULES - conventions, like it should have a lot of colors, a good theme to it etc etc ... Similarly, music has guidelines, things that you can follow and work on and "claim" to be a successful musician. But does learning music get you the title of a "successful musician"? No, connecting to people does! If you leanr music, A to Z, and people cannot relate to your music or relate to you or your music does not touch their soul, you cannot be established as a successful artist. Similarly, If you are not trained and still you can touch people's heart, people relate to your music, people lay back, close their eyes and fall deeper into your music everyday, you have achieved the ultimate aim of making music. You have achieved the ultimate aim of ART in totality. All these musical teachings, they are absolutely mind blowing and I am in no way against them but If you learn every single thing according to what the handbook says, why cant you relate to anyone? Because you cant crack the code of connecting with people. If everyone in a music school learns everything perfectly, why doesn't every student go on to become a superstar? a successful singer? a successful musician? Because this is not a course that you can do and practice it ... This is not about learning how to fly a kite and flying a kite ... It is about being lucky enough, smart enough, innovative enough and naturally gifted enough to relate to your audience. The bottom line is that you can learn all their is to learn in music and not be successful OR you can learn how to relate to people, how to pour out your heart every time you hold the microphone and you will be ... Atif Aslam!

I will conclude my article with simple examples that would enhance my points. Do you know what a poetic license is? Its the "authority" of a poet to "innovate" or "deviate" from the conventions of grammar to express himself. Since poetry is an art too, the poets have the authority to bend the rules of literature. Writers, painters, poets, all use this license to express themselves and If history is a reliable source, most of the people that bend the rules are pioneers of their field. Mirza Ghalib brought several innovations through his poetry and is considered a God in poetry. William Shakespeare bent the rules of English grammar on countless instances and became a legend. Michael Jackson, a vocalist who dared to be different. His vocals and his way of approaching each song was unique! the outcome? Even though he is six-feet under the ground, he rests there in a gold-platted coffin as the world weeps his departure.

My final words would be that If Atif Aslam is not trained or out of tune and can still relate to people, he is a successful artist because "ART" is not so cruel that it rejects innovation, individuality and creativity! ... I will leave you with these final words from another man who is part of history:

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.? - Albert Einstein (Learning music will get you from music school to the world of music. Being able to touch people's soul will make you a true musician)"

Akshay Katrina In Hera Pheri 4

Akshay Katrina In Hera Pheri 4
Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif will be the lead pair in Hera Pheri 4. So far there has been Hera Pheri and the super successful Phir Hera Pheri in the series.

Hera Pheri 4 will be the next part in the instalment though most would have been expecting the title Hera Pheri 3. Heri Pheri 4 will go on the sets in March with Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal also there in the cast.

The film is to be directed by Anees Bazmee while Hera Pheri and Phir Hera Pheri were directed by Priyadarshan and Neera Vora respectively. Aness Bazmee, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have a super track record together with Welcome and Singh Is Kinng and may well make it a hatrick of mega hits with Hera Pheri 4 which is expected to hit theatres year end 2010.

All The Best Review By Taran Adarsh

By Taran Adarsh, October 16, 2009 - 08:25 IST

Sometimes, we laugh at movies. At times, we laugh in movies. Thankfully, ALL THE BEST, helmed by Rohit Shetty, belongs to the latter type.

ALL THE BEST makes no claims of catering to the intelligentsia or the elite. Instead, it's aimed at those who want to spend two hours of their precious life flexing their facial muscles. ALL THE BEST is for those who expect fun and laughter unlimited in those two hours. This one makes you smile, laugh, even break into a guffaw at times.

Write your own movie review of All The Best
The jokes and the goings-on may appear silly, but who cares! As long as one feels positive and wears a smile on the face even after the show has ended, nothing else matters.

Comedy is serious business and Rohit Shetty is a pro at this genre now. This time, the talented director seeks inspiration from RIGHT BED, WRONG HUSBAND and what works to the advantage are two factors - the written material and the right casting. Both are just right!

From time to time, it has been noticed that some films are made with the motive of keeping you entertained. ALL THE BEST is one of those films. Go, have a blast this Diwali!

Veer [Fardeen Khan], a singer by profession, is greedy of extracting extra pocket money from his brother Dharam [Sanjay Dutt], a business-honcho. Veer lies to Dharam that he has got married and his friend Prem [Ajay Devgn], a concept car expert, lends a helping hand in cooking up this alibi.

Veer is in love with Vidya [Mugdha Godse], but has qualified in the hate list of her father. Prem is happily married to Jhanvi [Bipasha Basu], who takes care of his ancestor's outdated gymnasium. Veer and Prem land up in debts as they had opted for a short-cut to earn easy money.

The two get into a bigger soup when Dharam pays a sudden visit to their place. Time does not give a chance and unavoidable circumstances arouse such situations that Prem's wife Jhanvi is mistaken for Veer's and Veer's girlfriend for Prem's.

Like his previous films, director Rohit Shetty rests the story on multiple characters, with a dozen odd actors in supporting roles. With so many characters in the film, it generally tends to get confusing, but ALL THE BEST has an easy-to-comprehend story and a trouble-free and uncomplicated screenplay [Robin Bhatt and Yunus Sajawal].

Ten minutes into the film and you know that ALL THE BEST is all about mistaken identities. But the proceedings actually take off when Sanju enters the scene. That's when you get drawn into this madcap world completely.

A number of sequences are howlarious. Note Johny Lever's intro. Ditto for Sanjay Mishra's track. Also, when Johny Lever regains his voice - towards the climax - it's sooooo funny. On the flip side, the pace drops in the middle of the second hour. Also Pritam's musical score is uninspiring and the songs act as speed breakers.

Rohit Shetty is in top form and his team of writers, Robin and Yunus, contribute enormously in making this film watchable. Dudley's cinematography is perfect. Farhad - Sajid and Bunty Rathore's dialogue are very much in sync with the mood of the film. In fact, a few one-liners are extremely witty.

Sanju portrays his part well. His sequences with Ajay are truly fantastic. But the show-stopper is undoubtedly Ajay, whose comic timing is only getting better. He plays to the gallery completely and delivers a sparkling performance. Fardeen needs to loosen up, though he makes a sincere attempt. Bipasha is sweet, while Mugdha doesn't get much scope. Amongst supporting actors, Johny Lever and Sanjay Mishra are in terrific form. Mukesh Tiwari, Vijay Patkar, Ashwini Kalsekar and Atul Parchure lend credible report.

On the whole, ALL THE BEST is fun and laughter unlimited. At the box-office, the festive period coupled with the solid track record of Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty and also the strong merits will ensure ample footfalls at cineplexes, making its investors laugh all the way to the bank. Recommended!

Main Aurr Mrs Khanna Review By Taran Ardash

By Taran Adarsh, October 16, 2009 - 11:22 IST

We love drama. That's the staple diet of Bollywood films. Even television shows, till a few months ago, relied too heavily on dramatic moments and twists-n-turns, especially the saas-bahu shows. Of late, the reality shows rely on drama to boost the TRPs.

MAIN AURR MRS. KHANNA, directed by debutante Prem Soni, could've been an interesting story had the drama quotient been a bit stronger. What comes across is too simple and ordinary.

Actually, the problem lies in its writing. It wouldn't be erroneous to say that Prem Soni, the director is letdown by Prem Soni, the writer. The writing gyrates from interesting to ordinary to unconvincing and that bogs the film down. The inconsistency is evident all through.

Write your own movie review of Main Aurr Mrs Khanna
Final words? This Mr. and Mrs. Khanna won't live happily ever after!

Raina [Kareena Kapoor], Samir [Salman Khan] and Akash [Sohail Khan] are three people whose lives get entwined at an international airport. Samir has to decide whether he wants to stay in the same city [Melbourne] that gave him so much and then took away everything or fly away to a new city [Singapore], to a new life.

Raina has to decide whether her love and loyalty for her husband Samir, who left her to pursue success, is more justified than her faith and trust in her new-found friend, while Akash has to decide whether what he feels for a married woman is lust or true love and whether he's justified in trying to win her at all costs, even at the cost of her marriage.

Now let's analyse…
MAIN AURR MRS. KHANNA makes a promising start. The cracks in the relationship are evident when the husband starts facing problems on the professional front. He tries to re-locate to Singapore, but decides to send his wife to Delhi, to his parents' home. Convincing!

The wife decides to stay back in Melbourne and suddenly meets an 'angel' [Sohail Khan] and a friend's friend [Mahek Chahal], who gets her a job at the airport [within hours of meeting her] and a few scenes later, Mrs. Khanna shifts into a palatial mansion. Wowwwww! How can she afford a palace-like home in Melbourne from the salary that she gets, while working in a shop at the airport? Not convincing!

The wife and angel become friends. The angel is well aware of her marital status, yet loves her dearly. The woman trusts him as a friend. Convincing!

The husband re-surfaces [very quickly]. He's now settled in Singapore, has even bought a house there, he returns to Melbourne to fetch his wife back. Complications arise when the marriage registration letter surfaces. Not convincing!

The question is, why didn't the wife confide in her husband about it? That she had to do it for the work permit? Of course, she states subsequently that she didn't want to complicate things further, but didn't she ever realise that the truth would be out sooner or later?

Also, when the husband is in Singapore, there's scant or zilch communication between the couple, which looks so unreal. There's just one sequence of the wife calling her husband, but the husband isn't responding to the call. Again, not convincing!

The ending is interesting, but the surprise appearance of Deepika Padukone looks forced in the script. Perhaps, it was incorporated so that Sohail doesn't come across as a loser. Strangely, Deepika's name is also Raina [also Kareena's name in the film] and she too was in a relationship with a Samir [also Salman's name], which looks fake.

Prem Soni has handled a few scenes well, but the writing is ineffectual. Dialogue, also by Prem, are wonderful at places. Sajid-Wajid's music is tuneful. 'Don't Say Alvida' and 'Rabba' are melodious compositions. The cinematography is striking. The locales of Melbourne give the film a perfect romantic setting.

Salman handles his part with maturity, but it's a Kareena show all the way. She is remarkable and delivers a winning performance yet again. Sohail contributes to some light moments. Yash Tonk is alright. Mahek Chahal is perfect. Nauheed Cyrusi doesn't get any scope.

The film has several star appearances: Deepika Padukone, Preity Zinta [okay], Dino Morea [hardly there for a few minutes] and Bappil Lahiri [yes, the veteran music composer has a proper role in the film].

On the whole, MAIN AURR MRS. KHANNA is weak in merits. At the box-office, the BLUE wave, followed by another strong opposition in ALL THE BEST will sideline MAIN AURR MRS. KHANNA completely. It's a non-starter!

Katrina Kaif’s Saree Malfunction

Katrina Kaif’s Saree Malfunction

Director Priyadarshan and choreographer Pony Verma had a hard time managing the scene when Katrina Kaif’s saree shrunk more than it should be while shooting a rain song with Akshay Kumar. Due to the long shoot in rain, Katrina was completely drenched and at one point of time her saree went so high that he long leg totally exposed. On looking at the bizarre scene, the crew members just kept their eyes away from Katrina.

Since the rain dance is very hot and sexy, the makers at first decided to take long shots but due to Katrina’s saree malfunction, they went for close-ups. Confirming the incident, Pony Verma said, “Yes, a costume error happened with Katrina’s saree. Therefore, we shot mostly close-ups. At the end of the day, the result was far better than we had imagined it”.

Katrina is at ease with the incident and replied that it just one of those things which happen during shoots.

Priyadarshan .... please take me in your crew

Kim Sharma's matters of the heart

Kim Sharma's matters of the heart

Who exactly is actress Kim Sharma dating? This question has perplexed the paparazzi lately.
Till recently we knew that Kim was (and perhaps still is) in a romantic relationship with her Spanish boyfriend, Carlos Marin, a singer by profession. In fact, sources close to the actress alleged that she’s planning to tie the knot with Marin early next year.
So it has been a shock to see Kim hanging out with Rock On director Abhishek Kapoor more often than not since the last few weeks. The duo has been seen together at cafes, clubs and restaurants, sparking off the rumour that something is indeed cooking between them.
Abhishek has even gone on to concede that he and Kim are “just good friends”.
Judging the pace and passion at which their friendship is growing, Kim’s Spanish beau might soon find himself erased out of Kim’s love life.
Kim’s matters of the heart have always been grist for the rumour mills. Her passionate relationship with cricketer Yuvraj Singh and how it ended has already been written about. Now, it remains to be seen where her heart tilts this time - towards the Spanish singer of the desi director.

Kareena training hard to take on Kajol

Kareena training hard to take on Kajol

Manish Malhotra is having a hard time trying to bring down Kareena’s glamour-quotient in Stepmom to look like the ordinary working woman. Kareena is leaving nothing to chance this time.

In her determination to make sure she can match strides with the formidable scene-stealer Kajol in the desi Stepmom she has been quietly attending acting workshops with the film’s director Siddharth Malhotra.

To make time for this Kareena has been stealing time out of the rehearsals for the song that she began shooting with Aamir in 3 Idiots this week.

Playing Kajol’s soutan in the Indian Stepmom won’t be a cakewalk for Kareena Kapoor. The two actresses start shooting together from the end of this month.

Says Kareena, “The last time I rehearsed for a part it was for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara. But that was a more unconventional film and role where I had to get into a milieu and character I knew nothing about.

But Stepmom is urban and very contemporary. I play a very normal metro-centric working girl.It should’ve been easier.”
Through the workshops Kareena is discovering how difficult it is to play a normal girl. “I walk talk dress like an ordinary working girl. I’ll be using no makeup.”

The clothes by Manish Malhotra will on this occasion be far less glamorous than what Kareena generally gets to wear. “I couldn’t cut my hair as planned because of continuity clashes. And I didn’t want to cut my long hair. But I’m going for a new hairstyle.”

The biggest challenge is to face the camera with the indomitable Kajol.

Says Kareena, “She’s always been one of my favourite actresses. We worked together in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. But this is something else.”

Kareena says there are lot of dramatic scenes between the two women. “The desi version of Stepmom is very different from the original. My role is also a big departure from what Julia Roberts played in Stepmom.”
